নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক : বরিশাল মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশে (বিএমপি) কর্মরত পুলিশ পরিবারের মেধাবী সন্তানদের মাঝে বাংলাদেশ পুলিশ মেধাবৃত্তি প্রদান করা হয়েছে। মঙ্গলবার দুপুরে নগরীর চাঁদমারী এলাকায় বিএমপি অফিসার্স মেসের সম্মেলন কক্ষে এক অনুষ্ঠানে মেধা বৃত্তি ছাড়াও ক্রেস্ট এবং সন্মাননাপত্র বিতরণ করেন পুলিশ কমিশনার মো. শাহাবুদ্দিন খান।

অনুষ্ঠানের শুরুতে পুলিশ কমিশনার ৭ জন কৃতি শিক্ষার্থীর হাতে ক্রেস্ট, সম্মাননাপত্র ও সম্মানী তুলে দেন। অনুষ্ঠানে বিএমপির অতিরিক্ত কমিশনার প্রলয় চিসিম, উপকমিশনার মো. মোকতার হোসেন, মোহাম্মদ জাকির হোসেন মজুমদার, মো. খাইরুল আলম, খাঁন মুহাম্মদ আবু নাসের, মো. মনজুর রহমান সহ বিভিন্ন পর্যায়ের কর্মকর্তারা উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

প্রতি বছর বাংলাদেশ পুলিশ মেধাবৃত্তি প্রদান অনুষ্ঠান পুলিশ হেডকোয়ার্টারে অনুষ্ঠিত হলেও এ বছর বৈশ্বিক মহামারী করোনার কারণে নিজ নিজ ইউনিটে অনুষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে পুলিশ মেধা বৃত্তি প্রদান করা হয়।
